It is almost impossible for me to explain or put into words why I have fallen in love with the Eastern Cape beaches, Port Elizabeth to be specific. Everything about it is renewing for me and almost therapeutic. No matter how much the PE weather is unpredictable, every time I visit my daughter, I go prepared for that just one day, one moment where I would just go walk along the coast, where the musical sound of the waves meets the ocean.
Every time I stand before the beautiful beach, the waves whisper to my soul, stirring my heart, and bringing eternal joy to my soul.I totally agree with Rachel Carson who said and I quote, “In every outthrust headland, in every curving beach, in every grain of sand there is the story of the earth”.
I honestly am not going to grow up too quickly, lest I forget the therapeutic effect of the beach. The voice of the sea is like a lullaby, and its touch is sensuous, embracing my body and soul because it never ends. Going there is the best natural anti-depressant, sedative, painkiller and stress reliever I have ever experienced. Nothing beats this restorative experience, the beautiful souls you see in the pictures are very special to me. They have seen me at my weakest and when strong and never judged me.
We socialized, laughed, rested and relaxed together. Very good for the spirit and soul. Resting whilst listening to the sweet gentle sound of the waves. I will work so hard to have a beach house. If not will make it a point to visit one every year.
